And We're Off! - Little Pasos Update

The School Year Has Officially Started!

On January 14th, 30 students joyfully walked through the doors of Little Pasos Learning Center and into their classrooms — 11 Kindergarteners, 10 K2 students, and 9 first graders, all with smiles on their faces. We truly can’t believe we get to do this work. As we enter our third year of ministry, we are amazed by the way God has grown our capacity and by the number of families who desire to be part of Little Pasos. Thank you to each of you who faithfully pray over our families, students, staff, and the vision and provision of this ministry. Little Pasos would not be what it is without you. Praise the Lord for His faithfulness!

First Prayer Night of 2026

On January 23rd at 7:00 PM we had our first prayer night of the year.  We invited all the parents to come with their families for a time of intentional prayer throughout the school.  We were pleasantly surprised when over 20 people showed up!  It was beautiful, and we can’t wait for the next prayer night in March!

Thanks to God, I Can Walk!

One of the sweetest parts of activities outside the regular school day, like prayer night, is the opportunity to connect more personally with our students’ families. During our most recent prayer night, we had the pleasure of speaking with one mom who shared a precious story about her Kindergartener. After receiving a vaccine the week before, her daughter’s leg hurt so badly that she couldn’t walk. The next morning, she woke up and was able to put one foot in front of the other, repeatedly saying, “Thanks to God, I can walk!” Her mom laughed and told us, “I just want y’all to know that we are Christians, but that gratefulness must have come from here — because we don’t talk like that.” Apparently, her daughter shared this testimony with everyone who would listen.

Nutritionist Seminar

This year, we are implementing a new guideline at Little Pasos: healthy snacks for our students. We are blessed to live in a country where fresh produce is readily available — where a pound of strawberries or a head of broccoli costs around $1.50. Caring for our bodies is an important part of following Christ, and we want to reflect that value in our school culture. Can we take a moment to brag on our parents?! Every snack we’ve seen so far has been well-balanced and nutritious. We are confident this healthy switch will have a lasting impact, not only academically, but developmentally as well. We also invited a licensed nutritionist to speak with parents about the benefits of reducing sugar intake, and it went wonderfully. The parents asked thoughtful questions, and we are so thankful for their enthusiasm in prioritizing their children’s nutrition.

Prayer Requests

Would you join us in praying for:

  • Our new missionaries who are fully funded! Sydney is currently in Guatemala attending language school, and Sarah will be moving down on February 16th. Please pray over their language acquisition, transitions, and hearts as they put down roots in a new country.

  • Zumba ministry starting back up this week — different night, same energy!

  • Continued provision for our three running classrooms.

  • That each student would come to know Jesus as their Savior and live their lives for Him.

  • Our next prayer night and parent seminar in March.

  • Wisdom, creativity, and stamina for our teachers and staff in 2026. Pray that we would keep our eyes fixed on Him in every circumstance as we work and serve throughout this school year.

With Gratitude

Thank you for every prayer, every donation, and every word of encouragement. God’s love for these families is evident through His provision—and YOU are a part of that story.

Please continue to pray with us, that we would be able to continue doing the work God has set out for us to do!

God bless you abundantly,

— The Little Pasos Team
