34 Years Young! - Tara
Happy Birthday to Me!
I am officially 34 years old today, and here is a little reflection. It is weird to be in my "mid-thirties" because my mind doesn't believe it. It is easy to look around and feel behind. William and I are not home owners, and we don't have any biological kids, among a few other areas where we maybe don't feel like we are where society tells us we should be. Basically, we feel like we don't have it all together! However, when I look at my life, where I am, the people who surround me, I feel so thankful and so at peace; God has me right where he wants me.
I have an amazing husband who pushes me and points me toward Jesus (the pushing or pointing depends haha). We have an amazing son, we have 2 dogs, we are healthy and we are part of an amazing ministry! (Obvious bias, haha) And we love love love what we do. We love Little Pasos Learning Center, its mission to provide young minds with the tools they need for a successful future, and we love getting to play a small role in the lives of these little leaders, sharing Jesus with them every day and learning from them! All in all, I have a pretty awesome life, thanks be to God and to Him be alllllll the glory! Pray with me for this next year of life that God has given me, that it would be another year of growing toward Him, giving him glory, and advancing the Kingdom!
Independence Day!
We celebrated Guatemala Indpendence Day on September 15th! It is a tradition to celebrate in schools with "Actos Civicos" and some kind of show, so our students put on a play of a well known legend in Guatemala (Tecun Uman), and danced to some marimba! Then we celebrated with a big "mercadito" which is basically fair style food without the sketchy rides. It was a big hit with all the parents and teachers. We love a good excuse to eat a ton of amazing traditional comida chapina!
Zumba!
I continue to give Zumba classes twice a week! On Mondays in the dance studio and on Saturdays at Little Pasos for the moms and women of the community. It has been a blessing to make new friends and exercise while having fun together! It also helps me destress from the daily toll of directing Little Pasos while also teaching Kindergarten.

Charlie is Independent!
Well, 2 weeks ago, our boy moved out! He was ready to leave the nest, but this time he was actually ready. He has a stable job and is renting a room in a house with a trusted friend. His room is cute and even has an accent wall! Haha. Please keep praying over him, that he will keep on the straight and narrow and most importantly, live a life surrendered to the Lord.
Funding FIRSTS
We have kicked off our FUNDING FIRSTS campaign! Our goal is to raise $30,000 by the end of the year to be fully funded for the 2026 school year! That means, teachers salaries, rent, utilities, textbooks, desks and supplies, and school uniforms are PAID! Join us in our mission to give young minds the tools they need for a successful future! Help us break chains and share the hope of Jesus Christ with our students and their families!
