Grace in Guate - February 2026
A NEW YEAR
This year will look a bit different. I continue to work in the school, but my role is changing a bit. This year I will be serving as the English coordinator. I will oversee, train and manage our five English teachers. We have classes from Preschool up to High School. We had some last minute changes at the beginning of January, but we are fully staffed now and ready for the new year!
Celebrations
Christmas is always a joy at the home! The kids are excited for games, tamales, Christmas cookies and more. We have a special time each year remembering Jesus’s birth. We also celebrated Porfi’s birthday with something new. It was the first time paintballing for all of us, but I ended up with the most bruises.
Full of Gratitude
We are only a few weeks into the new year and it has already been quite challenging. It’s easy to compare situations and think that we deserve things to just be easier, but that’s not what God tells us. He says there will be trials, there will be rejection, BUT He is faithful.
In the middle of disappointment, He is close by. He strengthens us and encourages us to abide in Him. He also reminds us to look at the big picture and the truth is that Porfi and I are extremely blessed. God continues to abundantly provide. He has provided family, friends, a safe place to live and so much more.
