Tara Goodloe - Adoption Update

I'll Cut to the Chase...
Our adoption paperwork was all approved, and now we have our certificate stating that we have jumped through all the hoops necessary!  Yay!  They could call at any minute with a kid for us to meet.

What's Next?
We are currently doing a trauma competency course, but that does not impede us from being matched!

Fun Fact:  There are no adoption agencies in Guatemala!  Adoptions can only be legalized and carried out by the CNA (Consejo Nacional de Adopciones).

There is a matching committee within the CNA that meets ever so often (but don't ask me how often), and when they have a kid who has been declared adoptable, they go through their choices of potential parents' profiles (which we are included in now) and the committee picks which parents would be the better match.

Once we have been picked as a match for a kid 0 - 3 years old, we are notified and then we meet with the social worker to learn about the kid and decide if we proceed.  If yes, we must have 3 consecutive visits with the kid before deciding.  THEN, they give us the kid a week later it may be longer, I can't remember.  But the reason is because they want us to get our house ready since we will have nothing except an empty room, closet, and twin bed.

So that is what is up with us!  Keep praying for our transition from empty nesters to parents of a toddler, and keep praying for our future baby

1:  William and I have been a part of a marriage life group, and it has been amazing!  We meet every Wednesday to eat and talk about Jesus and marriage.

2:  Jennifer and Ken came for a visit!  There are no words to describe how much fun we had showing them around our neck of the forest!  Haha. We can't wait for them to come back!

3:  My Zumba teacher (my Zumba sensei as I often refer to her) broke her rib and asked if I could cover some classes so I took some friends with me!

4:  Baby Missionary #1 is officially finished with language school!  She is getting settled into her new house, right down the street from us, and she will start shadowing in a couple of weeks!  We are so proud of her!  Now just waiting for Baby Missionary #2 to finish language school in late August!

Little Pasos
We have fun in Kindergarten!  We celebrated the World Cup last week.  "Hey, lets take a tough picture!" and there is the evidence.  Each student brought a different food from one of the countries in the World Cup, and we colored different flags from the teams!  Telling them they had to color their flags the actual colors of the country and not rainbow was not fun, but they did great!

Guess what, we ARE adding a 2nd grade!  CAN YOU BELIEVE IT HAS GROWN TO THIS?!  We are praying and asking for $33,000 by the end of 2026 in order to have 4 operating classrooms, 4 teachers' salaries, rent, utilities, desks, shelves and chairs for the new 2nd grade.  God is so good, and trust me when I say the parents are GRATEFUL.

Will you join us in 1. praying and 2. giving?  It is a big goal, but we serve God Almighty.  AMEN!

If you are interested in joining my personal support team (completely separate from Little Pasos), you can do so by clicking the button below.  All donations are tax deductible!  Thank you for considering it, it helps us pay rent and utilities and buy groceries and gas!  Special donations or monthly donations all help so much!
