  • Tara Goodloe

    Nurse at NLCH

    Tara serves as the nurse at NLCH in Villa Nueva, Guatemala.  She grew up in Godley, Texas and attended McMurry University in Abilene, Texas, where she graduated from Patty Hanks Shelton School of Nursing in 2014.  After a short term mission trip with her church to NLCH, she felt the Lord calling her to return full time.  She began serving with NLCH in August of 2017 and loves getting to know the kids better every day!

  • Lee & Staci Jarvis

    Director of Maintenance, Construction & Security

    Lee and Staci Jarvis joined NLAI in 2007. They serve with at New Life Children's Home in Guatemala. Lee is a graduate of West Texas A&M University, and Staci is a graduate of Texas Tech University. The Jarvises have three children: Canon, Ainslee and Karis.

  • Jasper & Latrica Jowers

    Construction and Administration

    Jasper & Latrica grew up in Brownfield, Texas and are from Lubbock.  They have three grown children and six grandchildren. Growing up as high school sweethearts, they have been married for 37 years. Jasper & Latrica have been involved in short-term missions for 20 years. Jasper has been a home and commercial builder for 35 years. He has built churches, schools, homes, shopping centers, government buildings and done many remodeling projects. Jasper assists with new and existing building projects at New Life Children's Home in Guatemala. Latrica graduated from South Plains College with her Associates degree in Rehabilitation Psychology and from Wayland Baptist University with a bachelor's degree in Human Services. They are both granny & grandad to the children at NLCH.

  • Rob & Kristy Mehner

    NLAI Director of Pastoral Care and Training; NLCH Short Term Missions and Intern Coordinators

    Rob & Kristy Mehner began serving at NLCH in 2017. They are from Cape Girardeau, MO, and have two adult children. They have served God vocationally in various capacities; Rob as a Spiritual Formation and Executive Pastor and Kristy as a Children’s Ministry Director and Executive Director of a large foster home. Rob has a Chemical Engineering degree from Missouri S&T and a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary. Kristy has an Early Childhood Education degree from Concordia University in St. Paul, MN. Rob provides training for new NLAI missionaries as well as ongoing training and pastoral care for NLAI missionaries and Guatemalan staff members at New Life Children's Home. Kristy provides administration help to the missionaries at NLCH, tutors children with learning disabilities, and serves at New Life Christian School as the Coordinator of the English Teachers.

  • Roblans & Jessi Mejia

    Echo Reach Ministries

    Roblans and Jessi Mejia have just joined the NLAI family but have been serving in Guatemala since 2008. They started Echo Reach Ministries, a ministry that uses soccer as a way to present Christ to the youth that are at risk of becoming involved in gangs and drugs. As they are in the process of returning to Guatemala in the fall of 2019, they hope to also start a home remodeling business to be able to teach skills that will give young men and women employment opportunities in the future. Roblans and Jessi have been married for six years and have two little ones, Elijah and Rachel, with another baby on the way!

  • Kourtney Nance

    Independence Program Coordinator

    Kourtney moved to Guatemala in 2016, and began serving with NLAI in 2019. She is a graduate of the University of North Texas and, before moving to Guatemala, served as preschool minister at The Village Church in Denton, Texas for 10 years. Kourtney works with the teenagers and young adults at NLCH, overseeing and implementing the Independence Program. This program seeks to support the older population of children and young adults at NLCH as they prepare to live thriving, successful adult lives outside of the Home one day.

  • Shelly Reeves

    Teacher at New Life christian SChool

    After serving as an intern at NLCH, Michelle "Shelly" Reeves, a graduate of Asbury University, moved to Guatemala in 2008. She teaches at New Life Christian School and recently began a class for deaf children, as part of the special education department, which is a great outreach ministry to the Villa Nueva community.

  • Josh Terry

    Development & Child Sponsor Coordinator

    Upon graduating with a degree in business from Texas Tech University, Josh served as an intern at NLCH for 15 months. During this time, he felt God calling him to return full-time. He enrolled in language school in January 2014 and then attended the NLAI School of Mission in Fall 2014. Josh now serves at NLCH assisting the Director with development and administrative tasks. He also oversees the computer lab for the children.

  • Tommy & Marilyn Todd

    Co-Directors of Resource Development

    Tommy and Marilyn Todd have been with NLAI since 2009. They served at New Life Children's Home in Guatemala for 10 years. After moving back to their home in Slaton, Texas, they now serve as Co-Directors of Resource Development. They will be traveling in the States to seek funds for all of the NLAI ministries, but especially for New Life Children's Home. The Todds have 5 children and 10 grandchildren.

  • Kendon & Wendy Wheeler

    President of NLAI / Director of NLCH

    Kendon and Wendy Wheeler have served in Guatemala with NLAI since January 1988. In 2012 Kendon, a graduate of Texas Tech University, began serving as President of NLAI. At the same time, Wendy, a graduate of Baylor University School of Nursing, became the Director of the New Life Children's Home, School, and Clinic. They continue to make their home at NLCH in Guatemala. They have four grown sons, three daughters-in-law, and four grandchildren.
