  • Kendon & Wendy Wheeler

    Kendon: President, NLAI

    Wendy: Director, NLCH

    Kendon and Wendy joined NLAI and moved to Guatemala in January 1988. They are from West Texas (Wendy-Brownfield and Kendon-Southland). Kendon graduated from Texas Tech University, receiving a BS in Agronomy in 1980 and an MS in Education in 1986. Wendy graduated from Baylor University with a BS in Nursing in 1981. The Wheelers have four sons: Jared (Rachel), Brett (Ashley), Micah (Laura) and Ian, as well as four grandchildren.

  • Tara Goodloe Fuentes

    Teacher at New Life Christian School

    Tara is an English teacher at our school for pre-kindergarten through 4th grade. She is passionate about giving the kids an opportunity to learn English and a better paying job in the future.  Her husband William, a Guatemalan national, is a small business owner who works with coffee as a way to provide jobs and disciple to young adults.

  • Lee & Staci Jarvis

    Director of Facilities and Team Projects

    Lee and Staci joined NLAI and moved to Guatemala in 2007.  Lee graduated from West Texas A&M University with a BS in Biology and a MS in Biology.  Staci graduated from Texas Tech University with a BBA in Management.  Lee serves as the Sub-Director and oversees maintenance, security, the teenage work program, and serves on the discipline committee.  Staci is the CEO (chief education officer) of the Jarvis household, serves in leadership in a missionary family homeschool co-op, and helps with special projects like Christmas at NLCH.  They have three kids: Canon, Ainslee, and Karis.

  • Jasper & Latrica Jowers

    Jasper: New Construction and Special Projects Coordinator

    Latrica: Child Sponsorship Assistant

    Jasper & Latrica Jowers began serving at NLCH in Guatemala in 2018. Prior to this, Jasper had made a number of trips on mission teams to Guatemala. The Jowers are from Lubbock, Texas, and have three adult children and eight grandchildren. Jasper has been a builder in commercial and residential construction for 38 years. Latrica has an associates degree in Rehab Psychology and Studied Human Services at Wayland Baptist University, Lubbock.

  • Rob & Kristy Mehner

    Rob: Director of Pastoral Care & Missionary Training, NLCH Intern Coordinator

    Kristy: NLCH Short Term Missions Coordinator

    Rob & Kristy Mehner began serving at NLCH in 2017. They are from Cape Girardeau, MO, and have two adult children. They have served God vocationally in various capacities; Rob as a Spiritual Formation and Executive Pastor and Kristy as a Children’s Ministry Director and Executive Director of a large foster home. Rob has a Chemical Engineering degree from Missouri S&T and a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary. Kristy has a degree in Early Childhood Education from Concordia University in St. Paul, MN.

  • Roblans and Jessi Mejia

    Echo Reach Ministries

    Roblans and Jessi Mejia have just joined the NLAI family but have been serving in Guatemala since 2008. They started a ministry that uses soccer as its way to bring Christ to the youth that are at risk of becoming involved in gangs and drugs. As they are in the process of returning in 2019, they hope to also start a home remodeling business to be able to teach these boys and girls skills that will give them employment opportunity in the future. They have been married 6 years now and have two little ones, Elijah, and James.

  • Kourtney Nance

    NLCH Independence Program Coordinator

    Kourtney moved to Guatemala in 2016, and began serving with NLAI in 2019. She is a graduate of The University of North Texas and, before moving to Guatemala, served as preschool minister at The Village Church Denton for 10 years. Kourtney works with the teenagers and young adults at New Life, overseeing and implementing the Independence Program. This program seeks to support the older population of children and young adults at NLCH as they prepare to live thriving, successful adult lives outside of the home one day.

  • Kate Reed

    Special Events and Social Media Coordinator

    In 2014 Kate began her journey at NLCH serving on a short-term mission trip. After several trips she felt God was calling her to missions. In 2017 she served at NLCH as a mission intern for a year.  After completion, and taking some time to pray and reflect on where God was leading her next, she felt God calling her back to Guatemala to serve with the NLCH Family full time! She’s from Brogue, Pennsylvania where she grew up on a small farm and is the oldest of 4 girls. Before starting her internship she was on staff at a local non-profit as their short-term missions trip coordinator.

  • Josh Terry

    Child Sponsor and Communications Coordinator

    In 2012 Josh arrived at NLCH to serve as a 15 month mission internship. Upon completion, he joined NLAI full time. Josh has a BA in International Business and Marketing from Texas Tech University. He oversees our sponsorship program, correlating correspondence with sponsors, managing the database and making child profiles. Josh also is a part of NLCH’s development team, doing design work like the photo calendar, brochures and signs, and assists with technology troubleshooting and training.

  • Tommy & Marilyn Todd

    Co-Directors of Resource Development

    Tommy and Marilyn Todd have been with NLAI since 2009. They served at New Life Children's Home in Guatemala for 10 years. They have just recently moved back to their home in Slaton, Texas. They now serve as Co-Directors of Resource Development. They will be traveling in the States to seek funds for all of the NLAI ministries, but especially for New Life Children's Home. The Todds have 5 children and 10 grandchildren.
